ASU Organisers Martin McDonald and Lorraine Di Pietrantonio along with a local delegate Amanda will be attending all the Libraries across Mornington Peninsula to meet with all members and non-members to discuss the ASU’s Uncap our Councils campaign.  The campaign is trying to deliver more funds for services at Councils.  We are wanting to talk to members about the critical delegate role, especially in the lead-up to negotiations, which will commence in 12 months’ time.

Union membership strength has never been more important than right now. We’ve seen the minimum wage increase by 5.2%, so if you want to achieve this, we need to increase our power in the workplace. We have time to build our strength and power before we start negotiations.
