The ASU Negotiating Team has now secured a management offer that we can recommend to members for endorsement.

Here is a quick summary of the key wins:

Wage increase
December 2021: $25.07 per week increase for all staff
December 2022: $25.58 per week increase or the rate cap expressed as a flat rate, whichever is higher.
December 2023: 1.5% or the rate cap, whichever is higher

Transfer of business
Right to redundancy secured for most ASU members, where a service is outsourced.

Paid pandemic leave
A paid pandemic leave of 1000 hours has been created that will give front line workers with low sick leave balances the ability to access leave when they have to isolate.

Heat policy
The new EA will give outdoor workers the ability to go home when the temperature reaches 37 degrees.

Apprenticeship rights
Commitment to directly employ future apprentices and recognition of service for LSL

Improved Super for women
$500 Superannuation paid per year for women over 45 and employed at Band 6 and below

Superannuation paid on periods of MVCC paid parental leave

And much, much more.

There are still some outstanding issues in the Library and Aged and Disability Schedules that we will resolve over the next week.

Have your say on the proposed agreement. Member meetings will be held next week. Please attend the one most convenient for you.
