2020 will be a big year for the ASU at Moonee Valley City Council, with your EBA up for negotiation, and the kick-off of an unprecedented campaign in local government regarding inadequate funding (i.e. through rate capping) and the impact on your job security.

Meetings with your ASU Organisers have been arranged to:

  1. Begin the process of developing a log of claims for ASU members
  2. Discuss the Local Government ASU campaign and what it means for you

There is a funding crisis about to hit Local Government, and now is the time for ASU members to fight back.

We’re holding campaign meetings across the state to talk to workers about what that fight needs to look like.

Meetings will be held on:

DATE: Thursday 13 February
TIME:
7.00am – 9.00am
VENUE: Depot (breakfast will be provided)

DATE: Thursday 13 February
TIME:
12.00pm – 2.00pm
VENUE: Civic Centre, Committee Room (lunch will be provided)

We will also be arranging a meeting with external staff (i.e. Community Strengthening, Libraries and Child Care) to work in with roster and shift times. Contact your local ASU Delegate or Organiser if you have any requests around when and where this should take place.

All ASU members are welcome to attend one of these paid meetings, and it’s a great opportunity to discuss what you want in your Agreement and workplace, and talk about what needs to be done in your industry as a whole!

If you have a colleague who is not an ASU member but you think may be interested, please forward a copy of this notice and invite them to come along; membership forms will be available on the day for anyone who wants to get involved.
