Strength in Unity!

The ASU is committed to protecting, promoting and improving the working conditions and entitlements of members.

And to best achieve this, we need to Change the Rules and to negotiate an Enterprise Agreement this year.

Thirty years of experimenting with trickle-down economics has failed to provide secure jobs or fair pay rises. CEO and executive pay rates are at an all-time high – yet pay increases for workers are at an all-time low. Ever increasing restrictions on how unions operate are making it harder to bargain for fair pay and conditions – or even retain current conditions.

We committed last year to follow up our workplace meetings and members survey with report back meetings, to get your feedback on our plans Change to Rules and increase union power.

The rules do not support working people, the rules are broken: it’s time to Change the Rules!

These meetings will be held at Monash City Council:

DATE: Monday 18 February
TIME: 7am – 8am
VENUE: Notting Hill Depot (next to the Social Club)

DATE: Monday 18 February
TIME: 11am – 12pm
VENUE: Civic Centre, Council Chambers

DATE: Monday 18 February
TIME: 1pm – 2pm
VENUE: Glen Waverley Library

These are paid meetings approved by management and we urge all members to attend.

All of the conditions that you and your co-workers have were fought for and won by union members such as you. United we stand, divided we fall!

In 2018 we reviewed the ASU’s vision and structure to deliver the best outcomes for members. Please come along to tell us what you think to help set the agenda, to Change the Rules and to hear about:

  • ASU member networks and how you can get involved
  • Current campaigns
  • Opportunities with a re-elected state government
  • Opportunities with a new federal government

What else can you do?

  • Encourage other members to come to the meeting with you
  • Pass this on to a non-member and ask them to join the ASU

If you are not a member you can join at

Why join?
