On Wednesday ASU members unanimously voted down Council’s EA offer.

Members reviewed the bigger picture and are not going to vote for an unfair deal.

Yesterday we relayed members’ position back to MSC and they informed us that they predicted this would happen and will put the EA out for a vote.

The ASU says this is shameful – we don’t even have a draft to review yet, and your employer wants to start the formal process for EA vote next week!

Council has advised that the access period to view the EA will be from Wednesday 16th December 2020 (i.e. next week).

They intend that voting will commence Friday 24th December 2020 and closes on Monday 4th January 2021.

Yes, that’s right – during your shutdown period.

Management will provide information on the voting process and the EA will be emailed to staff from Wednesday 16th. For those staff without computer access they will receive a hard copy. Those staff who have been identified as being on leave during this period will receive this information via post.

This is highly disrespectful to staff to put it out for a vote while the office is closed.

Watch this space – the ASU will provide further updates as more information comes to hand.

Please forward this along to a workmate, and remember we’re stronger when we stand together.
