Over the past 3 months, the ASU has been fighting to keep MIND from terminating the current Enterprise Agreement.

By the ASU placing pressure on MIND both internally and externally, MIND has agreed not to terminate the Enterprise Agreement and instead negotiate for a new Agreement.

This is a significant win for all MIND staff!

If the proposed termination of the Enterprise Agreement went ahead, your pay and conditions would have been downgraded to the bare minimum.

Now that we have MIND at the bargaining table, we need to ensure we bargain for an Enterprise Agreement that meets the needs of members.

MIND has advised the ASU that there are three main conditions that they want removed:

  1. Automatic pay rate progression from Level 2 to Level 3 after 12 months service
  2. Rostered Days Off for full-time staff
  3. $900 experience allowance for administrative staff.

Your ASU negotiating team have commenced initial negotiations and has used the time to set expectations about working together, plan a schedule of meetings and begin discussions about claims.

The ASU is holding two information sessions for both members and non-members:

DATE: Thursday 7 July
TIME: 5.30pm
MEETING LINK: Click here to join the meeting

DATE: Friday 8 July
TIME: 12.30pm

This meeting will be conducted online however face-to-face meetings will also be conducted in the coming weeks.

We need as many members as possible to have a successful bargaining process. Commit to bringing just one colleague who is not a member to an information session so that they understand what we are fighting for.

If you have any questions please contact ASU organiser Kerman Daruwalla at kdaruwalla@asuvictas.com.au

And keep talking to your colleagues and ask them to join so that they can be involved. It’s easy for anyone to join online at www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
