MHA Care advised the ASU that they intend to recommence bargaining for a new Enterprise Agreement (EA) soon. In this advice, they state they propose to move staff off the EA and on to the Award. More info from your employer is here.

Your current EA – MHA Care Enterprise Agreement 2015-2019 – stays in place until a new one is negotiated. Though it expired 30 June 2019 it continues to apply, unless they fall below the National Employment Standards.

The ASU is checking the advice provided by MHA Care to see whether there are items in your current EA that are over the Award. That is to check whether you’d be better off under the EA overall.

As an ASU member, you’re automatically represented by the ASU in EA negotiations. However MHA Care’s proposal to move workers to an Award is unusual, and we need advice and instructions from you.

Workers have faced new challenges over the last couple of years including an increase in cost of living and global pandemic. Negotiating a new EA could be your chance to get new clauses into your EA to address important issues and protect the things in life that matter – your jobs, income, families, community and health, safety, and wellbeing.

We can’t do this without an ASU Delegate participating on behalf of members. Delegates are a vital part of the process and together we can improve the working lives of MHA Care workers.

We will be holding member meetings soon to seek your feedback.
