Yesterday Victoria’s Premier Dan Andrews announced that more facilities and businesses will be opening up in Metro Melbourne areas as of 11:59pm ,Sunday 8th November.

What does his mean for ASU members in metro Melbourne?

ASU members working in areas such as gyms and indoor sporting facilities can open with up to 20 – subject to strict density limits.

Indoor sport for those 18 and under can recommence.

Community spaces like libraries and neighborhood houses can have up to 20 indoors, with groups of up to ten.

Galleries, museums and music halls will now be able to open.

Employers still have to maintain a Covid Safe Plan and consult with affected staff. Members are urged to contact your local ASU workplace delegate or the Australian Services Union at info@asuvictas.com.au or call 1300 855 570 if you have any concerns or queries regarding a return to work.

Also, from the 22 November – and in line with the public health advice – Victoria is on track to reach the Last Step in our roadmap towards reopening.

There will also be increases for other indoor venues like cinemas and gym and galleries.
