Recently the ASU became aware of a discrepancy in the amount of long service leave hours Merri-bek had recorded for employees.
Several members at Merri-bek have contacted the ASU advising they have found that their long-service leave accruals recorded were incorrect, with some falling short of hundreds of hours owing to them.
This issue has been raised at last week’s Joint Consultative Committee, where union organisers, delegates and council management meet, and council advise that they are aware of this discrepancy and the adjustments to correct accruals have been made.
Even though council say these adjustments have been made, the ASU encourage members to reach out to their HR advisor or Payroll if you suspect your long-service leave balance is still incorrect.
