The EBA negotiations have formally kicked off between the employer and the ASU.
Thus far there have been three meetings- the first meeting was utilised to discuss housekeeping processes- frequency of meetings, schedule meetings and when parties will be in a position to provide logs of claims.
The subsequent two meetings were spent going through the ASU (and other representative) log of claims documents which had been endorsed by the membership.
We have not yet commenced negotiating on each of the claims as yet as we are still in the early stages where all parties are to present their logs.
The employer has advised that they will not be proposing any amendments to the current EBA, as such will just be negotiating on the relevant Union logs.
There are separate schedule meetings which will also occur on a fortnightly bases, the ASU has claims pertaining to the Home and Community Care schedule which we will be negotiating on at the separate schedule meeting. At this stage no other schedule meetings will take place as there are no proposed changes.
The next meeting is scheduled for the 23rd of April and they will be fortnightly from here on in.
We are only as strong as our membership, now is the time to get on board with the ASU, this will ensure we achieve the best outcome we can, as well as you receiving up to date information regarding your wages and conditions.
