The ASU and your Delegates attended a CoM Staff Consultative Committee last Thursday 23 April.

The CEO gave a presentation on what actions that CoM is proposing regarding the COVID-19 Crisis.

The council have given a commitment that they will not stand-down staff and the ELT is working on a plan this week to redeploy staff and find alternative duties, especially for those staff in Libraries, Leisure and other areas.

Due to the complexity of the workforce planning process; this has taken longer than anticipated, but no staff members will be stood-down. Staff will be paid as normal during this planning process.

In On-Street Compliance Services, Members are taking up the secondment positions with DHHS, this will free up those positions where other staff can be redeployed to assist the existing staff.

It is important to remember that your industrial matters are still covered by the ASU during this period of secondment.

If you are going through any financial hardship please contact your manager.

We are also ensuring that your delegates and the ASU are being consulted during this difficult period.

We still have a long way to go over the next few weeks, so speak to your ASU Delegates and encourage non-members to join the ASU which is fighting hard for everyone.

Please circulate this newsletter to all other staff members and put on your notice boards and in your lunchrooms and encourage non-members to join their union.
