Melanie Gent, our Tasmanian Delegate of the Year Award winner for 2020, was last week appointed to fill a casual vacancy in the elected position of Branch Executive Member, until the next Branch election.
Melanie comes to this position with great enthusiasm and a love of her Union.
A member of City of Hobart’s Fire and Biodiversity Team, Melanie is the only woman in the outdoor workforce across the entire City of Hobart.
She’s a vocal defender of all that is right at the City and is constantly in contact with the Union to let us know what’s happening around the traps.
Melanie is highly respected in her workplace, has actively recruited new members, resolved many workplace issues and is always there whenever the ASU rocks up to a union event.
Members can rely on Melanie to undertake this role with great poise and respect for the members she represents and we welcome her to this role for the remainder of the term.
