Bargaining for your enterprise agreement has commenced, with two meetings held late last year. Your ASU bargaining team has presented your log of claims and work is underway to go through them all. You can view a copy of your ASU claims here.
Initial discussions have resulted in a lot of no’s from Council, with push-back on our range of claims to strengthen employment security. There are some claims we will need to seek further information for including the changes requested to allowances (handling infectious materials, dead animals etc).
Council is looking into background information for our claim on personal phone usage/allowances, as it is apparent there is inconsistency in how this is currently being handled.
They have agreed to consider wording for a number of our health and safety related claims.
At this stage, Maroondah Council has no log of claims. They have flagged seeking some changes to the RADAR payments in some areas, but have not specified what yet.
Our first meeting for the new year will be in early February. We will continue to provide updates and your feedback will be essential to guiding the process and making sure we focus on the claims that matter the most to you.
We are stronger when we work together. Now is a great time to ask a co-worker to join the ASU at www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
