You recently signed a petition calling on Maribyrnong Council to stop its attempt to outsource their care services. That petition, with over 600 signatures from residents, was presented to Council on the 23 October. But we need to do more to protect local care services.
Right now, Council is looking at tenders to determine if they will outsource care services.
We need community members like you to send a letter to Councillors.
It is very easy to send a letter to Councillors.
We know that losing council based care will lead to casual, short term and under-trained staff.
Your support has put community opposition to outsourcing on the Council agenda, but we need to make sure Council understand that community support for Council home care is strong.
It will only take a few minutes to write your own message to Councillors. The more letters your councillors receive the more likely we can influence their decision
To hear more about the campaign and about how you can support local aged care services, please join us at a community meeting on:
Monday 10th December at 6:00pm
Yarraville Community Centre (59 Frances Street, Yarraville)
Please RSVP for the meeting here: https://tinyurl.com/SaveHomeCare
What’s at stake?
- quality and consistent care
- a secure, mature, experienced and qualified workforce
- continuity of care due to increased staff turnover
Send a clear message to Councillors that these services need to be maintained by Council. And show your support.
- Attend the next Council meeting on 11th December at 6:30pm
- Contact your local Councillor to express your concerns.
If you have any questions or want to get involved further in the campaign please contact ASU organiser Lorraine Di Pietrantonio on 0400-986-745 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
