Nominations to become an ASU delegate in your area are closing on Friday at 5pm.
To nominate, you need to email your Organiser, Austin at firstname.lastname@example.org. If there is someone in your area who you think would make a good delegate, encourage them to nominate!
ASU Delegates not only negotiate your agreement, but are responsible for enforcing your rights in between agreements. They’re our members first port of call if they have issues, and help communicate union news to the workplace. All delegates receive training at the ASU, and reasonable work time to perform the role. Most importantly, without a delegate in your workplace, who is looking out for your rights?
If you have any questions about nominating, get in touch with Austin Fabry at 0436 481 684.
OHS During Bushfire Season
We have heard reports that some workers have been sent to do work outdoors during hazardous or very poor air quality events. Currently, Maribyrnong Council has not developed an air quality policy, meaning outdoor work during hazardous events should be limited as much as possible. Monitor the air quality at the EPA website, and consult with your local Health and Safety Representative if you have concerns.
The ASU protects, promotes and improves the working conditions and entitlements of our members. Forward this email to a colleague and encourage them to join today!
