The EBA negotiations have formally kicked off at Maribyrnong City Council. We have committed to fortnightly meetings to progress the negotiations.
Conversations have centralised thus far around housekeeping matters and the merging of Part A and Part B, there was consensuses from the group that we would aim have an agreed document prior to negotiating commencing on logs of claims. Unfortunately despite the efforts of the ASU to provide feedback on multiple occasions on the proposed document the employer has not progressed these matters. There will be further discussion regarding how to progress the merging without holding up the EBA negotiation process.
The last meeting was held on the 4 April where the ASU provided our log of claims document. The employer had also provided their log of claims however this remains incomplete as they are still providing information regarding the specifics for the local area workgroup agreements (LAWA).
We are only as strong as our membership, if you are not yet a member now is the time to join. ASU members will receive up to date information regarding the negotiations and will be consulted throughout this process to ensure we are accurately reflecting what our membership is seeking.
United we stand.
