VOTE NO, VOTE NO
The Voting opens 7.00am on 3 June 2022 through to 12.00pm Midday 9 June 2022. The ASU recommends you VOTE NO for this agreement. Council can do better.
The ASU has not agreed to the proposed agreement, because it takes workers backwards. The proposed agreement would see:
- The introduction of a cap on the redundancy payout to 52 weeks – there is currently no cap on redundancy payments.
- The removal of the end of band payment for new employees. This discriminates against new employees as they will end up working alongside you and be paid less.
- A pay increase of 2% or $28, whichever is greater. This is a cut in your real wages.
We have heard from our members and other staff that the cost of living is very high in Mansfield Shire, especially now with inflation at over 5%. Council needs to look after their staff, especially where our offer is affordable and reasonable. The ASU’s position is that wages should be 2.5% or $30.
Voting for EA commences after the EA Access period which is underway and concludes on June 2. The voting period starts on 3 June and closes June 9.
The Voting of the EA will be conducted via an electronic voting process It is important everyone VOTES NO to this agreement, to bring council back to the bargaining table and offer a better deal.
