The enterprise agreement access period started Monday 12 April. This is your chance to have a look at the enterprise agreement your union delegates and officials have been working on for months. Unfortunately, this final enterprise agreement offer being put to vote is not agreed on, as it does not meet the standards that you unanimously voted for at our recent member meetings – more info on that here . That is why it is vital that you send a message to Council and Vote No!
While we have made some improvements, we still have some concerns that have not been addressed despite being very reasonable. These include:
- No movement on the pay offer – despite a very conservative claim from members, who understand times are tough but want a fair offer.
- No to our claim for tea breaks for all indoor staff – this is a simple claim with no cost to Council, it seeks a clear entitlement, not prescribed arrangements.
- No change to transfer of business clause – we have been seeking fairness and security added to this clause- to give any worker who may find themselves in this position to have a choice about what happens to them between redundancy or being transferred to another employer through no choice.
It is really important you take the time to vote and clearly select the NO box. It is also critical to talk to other staff in your area about why it is important that they vote No. We can’t begin to try to turn this around without at least 50% of votes against the offer.
Together we are stronger. Ask a co-worker to join the ASU at www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
