After the success of the no vote, we are keen to recommence bargaining with Council as soon as possible. We want to maintain momentum so that we can work efficiently to reach an agreement that works for members.

Our position remains the same and we are going back with your three key claims – Pay, Tea Breaks (for Indoor Workers) and improvements to the Transfer of Business clause. We are also asking to retain the important ground we have made in areas around employment security, workload management, consultation and more.

The date for the first meeting of the bargaining committee has been set for Tuesday 1 June.

Your delegates have already met and as a start, we have written to Manningham Council CEO, Andrew Day, explaining your very reasonable position. We have also written to the Manningham Council Mayor and all Councillors. You can read this letter here.

Our ‘no’ vote shows the power of working together. Now is a great time to ask a co-worker to join the ASU at www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
