One of the top three issues important to members from the start of bargaining is seeking fairness and security in the transfer of business clause.

Ideally it is a clause that will never need to be used- but if there is change and work is to be moved outside of Council, our members want the right to make the best choice for themselves. Currently the future of some areas is uncertain, for instance due to decisions to be made about funding, but it could apply to any worker.

The EA you are voting on does not give workers the right to choose to be made redundant if Council decides to move their work to an external company, and they would have no choice but to be transferred to another employer or resign.

We want any worker who may find themselves in this position to have a choice about what happens to them between redundancy or being transferred to the other employer.

Vote NO to stand up for changes that members want in this clause.

Changes that mean loyal workers of Council are valued and respected.
