MacKillop Family Services EA nominally expired a long time ago. In order to negotiate a new agreement, the ASU commenced fortnightly meetings with MacKillop in September.
The parties to the agreement are MacKillop, its employees covered by the EA and the ASU. The ASU is the bargaining representative on behalf of union members. Union members should encourage non-union members to join the ASU to be represented!
The ASU is representing members and aims to achieve an enterprise agreement that is fair, sustainable and provides certainty around employment security and wages and conditions of employment.
ASU Organiser Kristy Lee Tyrrell attended a “without prejudice” enterprise agreement meeting on Monday 4 October. MacKillop has put forward some proposals to update the agreement. The ASU put forward our Log of Claims as endorsed by ASU members at MacKillop. The ASU LOC can be viewed here.
Given this was our first official bargaining meeting we still have a long way to go, so speak to your ASU Organiser and encourage non-members to join the ASU, who are fighting hard for everyone. It is easy to join online here: https://www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
Please circulate this newsletter by email to all other staff members and put it on your noticeboards and in your lunchrooms.
