Across the Local Government, ASU members are active and united for safer workplaces, better workplace conditions, and a bigger and stronger ASU.
Here’s a snapshot of just some of the things happening across local government.
Supported by ASU officials and workplace delegates, ASU members have pushed back against bullying in local government at council from Horsham Rural City to City of Melbourne.
Delegates from councils in metro Melbourne and regional Victoria gathered at Parliament House in Melbourne for lobbying training – increasing the ASU’s reach in our campaign outsources, insecure work, and wage suppression in local government.
At our recent Local Government Delegates Network meeting, delegates got updates on our industry campaigns and bargaining and heard from Cooperative Power.
There have been ASU workplace meetings in every part of the state, including at Campaspe, Darebin, Golden Plains, Whitehorse Manningham Libraries, Goldfields Libraries, Indigo Shire, Frankston, Moira Healthcare Alliance, Maroondah, Monash, Wyndham, Surf Coast, Bayside, Buloke, Murrindindi, Mayinbrnong, Melton, Southern Grampians, and Bass Coast,
Building union strength in their workplaces, new ASU delegates have been elected at Colac Otway Shire, Darebin City Council, and Port Phillip City Council.
And that’s just a fraction of the awesome work ASU members have been doing.
