It has been a huge week for library staff, and you have all been inspirational throughout this crisis.
- Members at Geelong met to pass a resolution that all staff should continue to be paid during the shutdown
- Members at Yarra have successfully secured two weeks of pay for their casuals when management previously tried to abandon them
- Members at Moreland campaigned for their libraries to shut down and continue to work together for adequate OHS
- Dozens of library staff have become union members across the state.
As was discussed in our previous delegate link up, we would like to invite you to our second library delegate zoom meeting.
DATE: Monday 30 March
TIME: 6pm – 7:30pm
ZOOM LINK: https://zoom.us/j/604837909
If you’ve never used Zoom before, please click on the link at least thirty minutes before the meeting and download the app.
If you need any assistance doing this or if you would like to be sent a calendar invite, please email ASU Organiser Austin Fabry at firstname.lastname@example.org
We have now sent our claims to all Victorian library members and we are using these to organise in worksites across the state.
We have also developed a graphic for you to share with your colleagues about our claims, which you can put into closed staff groups and send via text. You can download the graphic here.
If you have any other ideas for campaign tactics, materials or messages, please raise them in the delegates meeting, or send them through to ASU Organiser Austin Fabry at any time.
Keep fighting for your colleagues and encouraging people to become union members, we’re seeing real results out there after less than a week of coming together.
