The City of Port Phillip is currently reviewing its early education and childcare services.
This is important because the City of Port Phillip may decide to stop supporting local council-run childcare services which will affect the future of staff at council-run centres.
The review has naturally worried many parents, staff and community members.
For staff, it’s the difference between working for a council-run centre or community-run, with different pay and conditions.
So to ensure that the City of Port Phillip continues to support our local services, a group of locals, the ASU and MPs have created ‘SCIPP’ – Save Childcare in Port Phillip.
And today we are launching our campaign.
We believe City of Port Phillip should continue to directly provide childcare services but we need your help.
We’ve created a website with lots of information about the campaign and what you can do –savechildcare.org
We’ve also created a Facebook page where you can support the campaign – https://www.facebook.com/savechildcareportphillip
Please join our campaign to keep our high quality early education and childcare services in Port Phillip and to support our hardworking staff.
Contact details for our campaign are available at savechildcare.org
