Crunch time is almost here! We have been negotiating your EBA since February and are still at loggerheads with management regarding their wage offer.
While we have had some wins throughout the course of negotiations management are still not budging on their miserable wage offer.
Councils current offer is a 0.5% pay rise for the first year and then rate capping minus 0.5% for the following 2 years.
Council claims they have too many financial burdens, they must also understand you do too!
The ASU has been requesting for council to either meet with us or put the offer out to vote. Instead, they have maintained their position, cancelled meetings and refused to put the offer to vote.
The ASU will continue to push council for a meeting and will hold member meetings soon after.
It is now more vital than ever to be a member of the ASU, if management won’t budge, we may need to vote the agreement down and potentially take protected industrial action. You are only protected if you are a member of an affiliated union.
