Negotiations for a new enterprise agreement continued with a meeting held between your ASU bargaining representatives and LCC management on Thursday 17 June with LCC trying to wrap this up at our next scheduled meeting on Monday 12 July.

LCC have claims on the table that will reduce some vital entitlements, such as Parental Leave, spread of hours for library workers, childcare workers and aged and disability workers. A reduction in the transition to retirement from 5 years to 2 years and a below CPI wage offer.

Your ASU representatives very clearly stated at the meeting that any reduction of entitlements will be met with strong resistance from members and urged LCC to reconsider their position.

Disappointingly most of your claims have been dismissed and your representatives strongly believe LCC have failed to properly engage members who will potentially be affected.

It is vital members not only attend one of these meetings but that you bring along a non member so they too can hear what is at stake.

It is now more important than ever to encourage your colleagues to join the ASU and ensure that any attempt to erode your conditions and entitlements is stopped.

There is something you can do to change this;

Pass this on to a non-member and ask them to attend a meeting and join the ASU by visiting:

ASU membership is tax deductible. It pays to belong.
