Kingston and the ASU have been working towards the MOU (Document reflecting the rollover agreement) over the course of a few weeks.

This should be finalised and signed shortly.

Outcome of the MOU;

  • 75% or $25 (pro-rata), whichever is greater effective from 1 July 2022. (The date of 13 April was in relation to an improved wages offer from Council which was initially 1.5% or $22.50, that was improved on April 13 to the above, it was first initially believed that this was the date it would be effective from. Apologies for the confusion this was in error. Your pay rise is due in line with the current EA on 1 July 2022).
    Information on the dollar amount can be found here.
  • Improved parental leave provisions
  • 3 Days of flexibility leave (pro-rata)

We were successful in obtaining 3 additional days of flexibility leave (pro-rata) for essential workers.

The criteria can be found here.

Council has emailed all employees who they believe meet the criteria. If you haven’t received Councils email and believe you meet the criteria then we can dispute this decision.

Please reach out to ASU Organiser Lorraine Di Pietrantonio or your delegate, we have until July 29 to lodge a dispute, to get Council to reconsider their position.

Thank you to members for their participation throughout this process. We have been able to already start collecting suggestions for our log of claims, which will put us in a great position for negotiations which will start in early 2023.
