The Enterprise Agreement that regulates your wages and conditions of employment is being negotiated between unions and management.
The unions (ASU/ANMF/PA/AEU) have also been in negotiations on department-specific matters (i.e. Libraries/AccessCare/etc.) and we continue to negotiate on a weekly basis meeting every Wednesday.
We have been successful in getting an ‘in-principle’ agreement on a variety of matters and, as a result, the ASU will be holding meetings as per the following schedule:
DATE: Tuesday 25 June
TIME: 7.30 am – 8.30 am
VENUE: Mills Road
DATE: Thursday 27 June
TIME: 12.00 pm – 1.00 pm
VENUE: 1230 Nepean Highway
DATE: Tuesday 2 July
TIME: 12.00 pm – 1.00 pm
VENUE: 1230 Nepean Highway
DATE: Tuesday 2 July
TIME: 2.00 pm – 3.00 pm

Other meeting details will be advised once confirmed.
Matters outstanding in the negotiations include:
Wages, family violence provisions, payment for Working with Children Checks and other like requirements, redundancy provisions, bereavement and compassionate leave (including the difference between Childcare workers and Maternal & Child Health Immunisation Nurses and the rest of the workforce i.e. 3 days of paid leave versus 4 days of paid leave)
Your ASU Delegates are negotiating on your behalf alongside organisers from your union.
Please contact the ASU delegates to discuss the negotiations or any work-related matter. please share this newsletter on noticeboards, pigeon holes, lunch rooms, etc. If you co-workers are not engaged in this process your conditions will always be at risk.
We’re Stronger Together – By encouraging your workmates to join the ASU we will have stronger voice for workers at Kingston. It is easy for anyone who is not yet a member to join online at www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
