Council has now provided an updated wages offer for your consideration. The proposal is for an agreement to expire at the end of next financial year, with 2.8% (already paid) for this financial year, and 4% for next financial year (which equates to 2.26% each year over the past 3 years), as opposed to the previous offer which was an average of 2.25% per year over a four year agreement.
In reality, this new offer is an increase on the previous offer of just 0.01%. Is that really enough to make you change your vote?
Whilst some in the workplace may feel comfortable with this new offer, we don’t believe it goes far enough, and it doesn’t allow for the increase in superannuation entitlements that members have so strongly defended.
ASU Organiser, Karen Tantari will be holding further meetings to discuss this latest offer, to gain your feedback to take back to the bargaining table on Wednesday.
