It’s nearly time to again vote on whether you accept Council’s offer for your Enterprise Agreement, or not!
We strongly encourage you to again VOTE NO! Management has refused to move on the wages offer or to commit to maintaining your superannuation gap.
You have nothing to lose by voting NO again. By rejecting Council’s poor offer you will demonstrate that you are standing firm on wanting a decent increase in line with the substantial rise in the cost of living.
Council will be expecting a yes vote, as historically the agreement is rejected on the first vote with the subsequent vote receiving a yes. Stay strong and vote NO again. You will not be losing anything but can only improve the offer.
A wage freeze was imposed on you last year – through no choice of your own! Council was not impacted by COVID19 and to now only offer 0.9% (over 3 years) for 2020 is shameful! Employees have reasonably argued for 3% each year for 3 years. This equates to 1.5% for 2020 which is not greedy by any standards. Tasmanian CPI is currently sitting at 3%.
STOP Council using your pay as the easy way to balance its budget!
