As previously discussed, at the last EA meeting, Council provided a wage offer as follows:
Year 1 – 5.5%
Year 2 – 4.0%
Year 3 – 3.5%

Members provided feedback that they would prefer to receive 4% in Year 3 and also were keen to have a dollar amount as a safety net for employees on lower incomes. Members endorsed a counteroffer being put to Council.

Our counteroffer was:
Year 1 – 5.5% or $75.00 per week, whichever is greater
Year 2 – 4.0% or $60.00 per week, whichever is greater
Year 3 – 4.0% or $60.00 per week, whichever is greater

This equates to:

IF YOUR WAGE IS: COMPARATIVE % INCREASE EXAMPLE:
$71,000pa (or less) receive $75.00 p/w increase An employee on $60,000pa equals a 6.5% increase
$78,000pa (or less) receive $60.00 p/w increase $63,900 approximately a 4.9% increase
$78,000pa (or less) receive $60.00 p/w increase $67,000 approximately a 4.7% increase

This counter offer has been accepted by Council.
