Happy new years to all our ASU VicTas members. We hope you had a safe and merry Christmas and new years with your families and loved ones.
With people returning to work in the coming weeks and month we urge all members to be vigilant with sanitizing, social distancing and wearing masks in indoor spaces.
With the lead up to Christmas and the short reprieve from Covid-19 restrictions the outbreak last week has meant a number restrictions have had to be increased:
From 5:00pm on Thursday 31 December 2020 new restrictions apply in Victoria:
- The limit of people gathering in the home will be reduced to 15 from 30.
- Face masks must be worn when in indoor spaces (other than private residences), on public transport, and in commercial passenger vehicles, apart from when eating or drinking, unless a lawful reason not to wear one applies. Masks are strongly recommended in the home if people other than your immediate household are present.
The Vic/NSW border closures will continue to present ongoing obstacles for our border members who live/work in Vic/NSW. If you are an essential worker, please see the essential workers Victorian border crossing permit here or speak to your employer.
For all other up to date information please see the Victorian Corona virus website here.
The ASU remains advocating on your behalf with the state government and DHHS to ensure all Victorian workers are treated fairly during these difficult times.
If members have an issue in your workplace (Covid related or not) we urge you to make contact with the Member Contact Centre on 1300 855 570 or email at email@example.com.
