If you currently work for a not for profit aged care provider or are transferring to one after being with a council who is in the process of or exited Home Care, we have some information you need to know about the recent changes to the award.
The SCHADS is the modern Award that covers home care workers.
Several key changes have been made to the Award and came into effect from 1 July this year. These changes are significant and it’s important to know what impact these may have on your conditions and entitlements.
Some of these include a new 2-hour minimum engagement for part time workers which has significant impact regarding the scheduling of your work and new allowances for broken shifts.
ASU is holding an online briefing for home care members who are or considering working for a not for profit provider to update on what these changes are and how they will impact you.
DATE: Tuesday 12 July
