Your ASU bargaining representatives and officials met with Moreland CEO Cathy Henderson Tuesday afternoon and again this morning, and we have some important updates on the bargaining process and state of industrial action:

  1. The stop-work action that was planned for Thursday 12 May is now CANCELLED
  2. A paid meeting for ALL ASU members at Moreland will take place as follows:
    DATE: Thursday 12 May
    TIME: 9.30am – 11.30am
VENUE: Glenroy Hub (Meeting Room 4), Wheatsheaf Rd. Glenroy
Note: Paid time is available for the meeting, and for travel to and from the meeting
  3. We are still attending the council meeting tonight, with an ASU BBQ from 5:30pm at the Urquhart Street entrance, so come along.

The reason for the change is that Ms Henderson has provided a counteroffer to the ASU position in negotiations. We need to consider this offer and provide a response, in good faith, as part of the bargaining process.

The offer is a significant improvement on management’s previous position, but it is up to you as ASU members on whether to accept or reject the offer, so we need to hear from you.

All ASU members from across Moreland Council should attend this meeting and tell us what you think as this will determine our next steps on your behalf.

Membership forms will be available at the meeting, so if there’s anyone who wants to come along but isn’t a member, bring them and they can join at the meeting and participate in the discussion. They can also join online at www.asu.asn.au/ASUJoin
