ASU members provide the services that our community needs every day and are on the frontline of our country’s response to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Both good and bad stories are emerging from our workplaces regarding how management is dealing with the pandemic. Delegates and HSRs provide a vital role in the workplace. It is imperative that management is consulting with you about any actions that they are taking in the workplace.
The ASU has written to Management at public sector agencies, Water Authorities, and CMAs in our coverage asking what steps have been taken to proactively manage their response to Coronavirus.
We are putting together a plan to support HSRs, Delegates and ASU members. Can you please spend a few minutes to complete a short survey? https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/R9PHB5H
On Wednesday 1 April, 6:30pm – 7:30pm, the ACTU are running a free information session for Health and Safety Representatives, workplace leaders, and activists about the unfolding Coronavirus crisis.
The session will cover the federal government’s stimulus package, work health and safety rights and the implications for working people. We encourage you to register here: Coronavirus: HSR, Workplace Leader and Activist Briefing
We will be holding a number of Zoom meetings soon to get your feedback on and input into the ASU plan. If you haven’t used Zoom before, all you need is a Smartphone or other device for the video link, or can just use audio over the phone.
Please forward this newsletter to any HSRs in your workplace.
