Recently, the ASU became aware of changes occurring within the business. Following Hydro Tasmania being reminded of their requirement to consult under the Hydro Tasmania Enterprise Agreement 2017-2020, the unions were invited to a briefing yesterday concerning Hydro’s Transformation Vision for the Business.
Having just completed Horizon 1 of the plan, Hydro is now about to embark on Horizon 2 which involves how the new business groupings will improve their output and performance as well as reduce operating costs by designing and operationalizing a new working model.
As with any changes to operating models, we are expecting impacts on employees. These may include changes to roles and functions as well as changes to policies. Again, the business was reminded of its requirement to consult with staff and unions in relation to any changes and the impact on employees. They were advised overall communication and consultation is essential.
