Members have voted to take Protected Industrial Action next week.

We will be having a Stop Work Action next Wednesday 8 December from 8.30am – 12.30pm at Broadmeadows Town Hall.

We ask all members to stop work and attend a mass members meeting at the Broadmeadows Town Hall. Members participating in the stop work will be deducted pay for the stoppage.

This has been a hard decision to make, but management is dragging their feet and is yet to put an acceptable pay increase on the table.

86% of workers voted No in the recent EA ballot. This was a strong rejection of the unacceptably low pay offer.

Council is still not listening to you. It’s time to take action and send a clear message that Hume workers deserve a fair pay increase. Members have worked hard during the pandemic, keeping services running and supporting ratepayers. You deserve better than 1.5%

Stop Work Action at other Councils has resulted in fairer pay offers.

The ASU Bargaining Group is asking for 2.25%. This is a fair and just outcome. Council has no debt and is in a strong financial position moving forward with the growth in new housing across Hume.

Join us at Town Hall for a BBQ and to hear from your Delegates and other members. Even if you are still working from home, please come along. The more members who attend, the stronger we are.

Chat to a workmate about the importance of union membership and ask them to join the ASU today via www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
