Last week we held our first Zoom meetings for HSR’s & Delegates in Local Government.
One of the main issues that we discussed is the lack of consultation around changes that are being made in the workplace.
Your employer is required under the OHS Act to consult with HSR’s and staff before implementing any measures – whether that is social distancing, working from home, appropriate PPE, standing staff down or any other measures.
A plan was presented at the meetings and you can view the plan here.
Your Organiser will be working through the plan with you and if you have any immediate concerns please contact your Organiser. Full copies of the checklist, petition and resolution are also available from your Organiser.
Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday 22 April at 3pm. Instructions on how to join that meeting will be sent out early next week.
The ACTU also recently ran a session on Provisional Improvement Notices. This session is now available on-demand, which means that you can watch it at a time that suits you. We would encourage all HSR’s & Delegates to do so. You can access the session here.
Responses to our letter to CEO’s continue to come in. Check here to see if your employer is naughty or nice
Please forward this on to other HSR’s in your workplace.
