As you would be aware your Enterprise Agreement has successfully been voted up as 91% of the staff that voted have voted yes.
You may have started to received ballot papers from the AEC regarding protected industrial action, however as staff have voted in favour of the proposed Agreement this process is now invalid as bargaining has finished. So please disregard this paperwork.
The next step is your EA will be prepared to be sent to Fair Work to be certified and once that has occurred it will become enforceable.
Please note if you have an end of band review/payment owing you are still eligible for this payment until the new EA has been certified as the current EA is still valid.
Also, you would normally have to wait to receive your pay increase and back pay until the EA has been certified but Council have advised they have approved pay increases and backpays of salaries to be paid early.
We will keep you updated on the certification process, will be raising a minor consolidation issue in the process on your behalf. The Fair Work Commissioner may also ask your employer to make undertakings.
