Boroondara City Council has recently made an in-principle decision to privatise their in-home aged care services without talking to elderly residents who use the service or the council workers whose jobs are at stake.

Approximately 2,119 vulnerable service users will be affected, and 62 Home Support and office staff will face redundancy if the council exits these services.

Privatised aged care fails residents and staff. The last few years have made that very clear.  Check out a recent story in The Age about this here.

If the council outsources aged care services it will result in less qualified and lower-paid workers and ultimately inferior care for elderly members of the Boroondara community.

Will you add your name to the petition and help put pressure on the Boroondara City Council to not privatise aged care?

There is still time to put pressure on the Council, so we need as many signatures as possible to show them that we do not want aged care to be privatised in Boroondara.

Sign the petition now and let’s show the Boroondara City Council that we don’t want aged care to be privatised in our community.
