After an extended break in Enterprise Bargaining negotiations due the impact of the pandemic, the ASU bargaining group have recently met with Good Shepherd representatives, to advance discussions. The next meeting with Management will be the week beginning April 26 where Good Shepherd will confirm wages and conditions under the rollover Agreement as proposed by the parties.

ASU Delegates Maria Strofalis, Jenny Simms and Sally Johnson have been at the forefront of the negotiations. Their commitment and insights as representatives of ASU members has been hugely beneficial and greatly appreciated.

A win for members is that the key claim to have the option to access all Paid Parental Leave before going on leave has already been secured and will be incorporated in the roll over Agreement.

Member meetings will occur in May to provide members with an update on negotiations, your presence and feedback at these meetings is critical to ensure the integrity of the Agreement.

This is the time to actively encourage your workmates to join the ASU – so we will have a stronger voice for workers at Good Shepherd and send a message loud and clear on members feedback and position on new proposed Agreement. It’s easy for anyone who is not yet a member to join online at www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
