We proudly stand in solidarity with the school students from around Australia who will be taking action and participating in the Global Climate strike. And we are looking forward to joining them in this important global action.
As one Victorian student organiser put it while preparing for a school strike in November last year…
“We are trying to create that sense of urgency the government has been ignoring. The lack of government action is shameful” Anna Burnett
The ASU is calling on members and workers to support the school strikers’ Global Climate Strike by taking a day of leave to attend a Climate Strike rally on 20 September, organising a workplace solidarity selfie, or passing a workplace resolution in support of these young activists.
There are events right across Victoria and Tasmania and ASU members will be attending in support of students calling for action on the climate crisis.
