The ASU welcomes the news that Glenorchy City Council intends to honour their obligations to pay performance-related increments that are secured in your current Enterprise Agreement. The ASU made it clear that these conditions were protected. We are pleased GCC legal advice has confirmed this position.

As you know, the intent to delay bargaining for a new EA and to freeze your annual wage increment remains in place. In light of the news overnight, and therefore the varied proposal from GCC, we invite you to attend further meetings to provide your feedback.

The ASU still has the right to:

  • Counteroffer a proposal to Glenorchy City Council
  • Apply to Fair Work to initiate bargaining for a new enterprise agreement
  • Accept the GCC proposal to delay bargaining

The path forward will be determined by you.
