ASU delegates and officials met with Glen Eira this week about council’s proposal to roll over your enterprise agreement, and the ASU’s counter-position, more info on that here.

Council responded that for financial reasons they’ve covered previously that they can not meet all of the members’ counter position. They presented an updated wage offer of $18.50/week pay increase or 1.5%, whichever is greater. In this offer members at Bands 4A and below would receive the dollar amount.

There was no offer regarding additional leave, reduced hours, paid tea breaks, etc. The ASU has provided our model gender equality clause for council to consider.

This offer is to be provided in writing, and the ASU is in the process of setting up member consultation mechanisms – meetings and surveys which we will seek Council to release ASU members to attend.

The bargaining group will meet again on Wednesday 23 June, to provide members’ feedback on the offer.
