The ASU has had monthly teleconferences with representatives from the 4 councils that are part of the Gippsland Shared Services project scheduled since August last year.

In most instances the teleconferences have not gone ahead as the councils have been waiting on decisions of the State Government and the preparation of a revised business case.

Our scheduled meeting for today was again cancelled as there was nothing new for the councils to report.

Executive President Billy King has today written to the CEOs of the 4 councils requesting that Gippsland Shared Services is abandoned.

You can download a copy of that letter here.

ASU members provide the frontline services that communities rely on everyday. Local economies and communities will suffer if workers are put off because of Coronavirus. We will advise you when we have a response from your Council.

What can you do?

  • Forward this email to a non-member.
  • Unions are campaigning for the government to subsidise the wages of people who could lose their jobs because of Coronavirus. Sign the ACTU petition now
