The ASU has received feedback from across the state that many home care members are unsure of what is happening in this important part of the local government sector.
Due to the nature and rostering of the work that home care members do, it can be difficult to get members together. However, we know how important it is that all members are kept up to date on changes across the sector that may be relevant to them.
As part of our commitment to providing workplace information, services and individual support to members, we have established network meetings around the state to help keep members who provide home care services up-to-date.
The first of these regional network meeting was held in the south eastern Melbourne suburb of Frankston, and the next will be held in Geelong.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday 9 April (4:30-6:00pm) in the Council Chambers at Geelong Trades Hall. And we expect it will be well attended!
Home care members from across the region (Geelong, Wyndham, Moorabool, Melton, Surf Coast, Golden Plains etc.) will be able to share their own knowledge and experiences about what is happening in their areas, as well as hear from ASU officers about what’s happening around the state.
Over this year we will be holding regional home care network meetings across the state so keep an eye out for a meeting near you.
