Better Pay and Conditions For Local Government Workers: Geelong City Council
Every ASU member is unique, and every workplace is different, but we stand together across local government to achieve better workplaces. As a member of the ASU, you will have a real say on your next Enterprise Agreement (EA).
To better protect workers in an increasingly dangerous world, the ASU has developed new claims for your upcoming EA negotiations.
These innovative and practical claims are designed to protect the things in life that matter – our jobs, income, families, community and health, safety and wellbeing.
Bargaining for a new EA has started at Council, with ASU setting the agenda. We have started presenting specific work unit claims to management, with some responses from management which Delegates are working through, see list below.
- City Works, Parks and Gardens.
- Leisure and recreation.
- HACC Services.
- Early Childcare.
- Health and Local Laws.
ASU Delegates have committed to negotiate the specific work units before we start bargaining the main body of claims. The ASU bargaining group will have regular members newsletters to update on the process and members meetings when we need further direction.
ASU delegates and officials continue to meet COGG frequently to get any members who were going to be stood down into redeployed alternative meaningful work during the present lockdown periods.
The ASU, as always, is BY YOUR SIDE.
Chat to a workmate who is not yet a member of our union about the importance of joining the ASU to getting a better deal in the enterprise agreement.
