ASU Organiser Clay O’Brien will be holding meetings at Gannawarra Shire Council to discuss our campaign for proper funding of local services, secure jobs, and fair wage increases.

DATE: Thursday 13 May
TIME: 7am
VENUE: Kerang Depot

DATE: Thursday 13 May
TIME: 12.30pm
VENUE: Main Office
ASU Assistant Secretary Melissa Wainwright will also be attending the 12.30 meeting.

The Crisis on the Frontline campaign will highlight the damage caused by underfunding of council services, including its impact on ASU members and our communities.

In recent years we have seen the damage caused by insufficient funding of local government:

  • Services cut or privatised
  • Increases in insecure work; and
  • Unfair wage offers that are tied to the Rate Cap.

We have seen services stretched to breaking point and ASU members have had enough.

All council workers are invited to join the ASU and get involved with our campaign. The first phase of Crisis on the Frontline will highlight the role of ASU members in their community. We are therefore seeking stories and examples of ASU members going above and beyond.

Union members know we are stronger and better off when we work together. As we embark upon a major campaign for better funding, secure jobs and fair wage increases, please talk to colleagues about the benefits of ASU membership and encourage them to join the ASU.
