The ASU has been in negotiations with council for several months.

Recently council put forward a wage offer;
Year 1 | 2.25%
Year 2 | 2.75%
Year 3 | 2.25%

This offer falls well short of our claim of 8% or $70, also there is no inclusion of a dollar amount, which is an important aspect of our claim, as it assists with a greater increase for the lower banding employees.

The majority of our claims have also been rejected including

  • Maintenance of all existing entitlements
  • Clauses to ensure greater safety net regarding job security
  • Improvements to dispute resolution provision
  • Parental leave improvements
  • End of band recognition
  • Minimum requirements around backfill

We will be organising a members meeting to discuss the log of claims along with the next steps as we do not believe the current offer will be acceptable to our membership.

By encouraging your workmates to join the ASU we will have a stronger voice for workers at Manningham. It is easy for anyone to join online at www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
