Just last week Very Special Kids started the process to freeze the wages of its employees.
But ASU organisers and our specialist legal team jumped to action and lodged a dispute in the Fair Work Commission.
The organisation was taking advantage of recent changes that allow a vote of employees on an enterprise agreement variation with only 24 hours notice.
Only last year ASU members at Very Special Kinds fought hard to get a pay increase in their Enterprise Agreement.
Very Special Kids’ attempt to freeze this agreed wage increase is an insult to its hard-working employees.
The wage freeze is particularly galling because Very Special Kids’ employees made every effort to support the organisation during the COVID-19 crisis.
When employers try to steamroll over workers, it pays to have the ASU by your side.
